Sweet Potatoes

One Thanksgiving in California we feasted with Jan and Clyde Hall. Jan made these wonderful sweet potatoes and we have been making them ever since for Thanksgiving.

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes (canned or cooked-1 large and 1 small can or 4 medium cooked)
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teasp. vanilla
1/4 cup margarine, melted

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup margarine


Mix together until smooth--(drain liquid if using canned yams. Put into greased 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Mix topping , cutting in margarine until size of peas. Sprinkle over the top of casserole and Bake 350 degrees for one hour.
